We're having a BBQ this evening with my cousin and their friends...but hopefully some of my friends will show up, too. We're going to try to teach everyone how to play beirut.
Anyway...there are two things I think of when I think of the 4th of July: Springsteen, and Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum kicking some alien ass.
So I give you "Rosalita (Come Out Tonight)" , which is possibly my favorite song ever...
...and, well, the Bill Pullman as President Whitman in Independence Day (directed by Roland Emmerich), giving that ridiculously awesome (yet ridiculously jingoistic) speech right before everyone goes and blows up the alien ships...and in the moment of crisis, Randy Quaid saves the day.
